Job Description

Looking for an CNC machinist with experience for a Machine Shop in Atwater, CA.

• Make parts to specifications using a lathe, milling machine, shaper, and grinder.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to find any defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
• Set up, adjust, and operate specialized and advanced machine tools.
• Align and secure machine holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine the sequence of methods and operations necessary to fabricate products.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display the placement of cuts.
• Observe operating machines/equipment to diagnose malfunctions and make adjustments or repairs.
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment. Dismantle machines/equipment.
• Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Fit and assemble parts to make or repair tool machines.
• Set up and operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift or move heavy objects.
• Repeatedly perform physical operations, including pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, bending, stacking, and turning.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses and closed-toe shoes.
