Job Description

Compliance Associate (New York, NY): A leading private equity firm with more than $10B in assets under management is seeking a Compliance Associate to join its team in New York City. This is a fantastic opportunity to join growing firm with a collegial, team-oriented and welcoming culture, and grow into a senior role as the firm enters its next phase of growth and complexity.

Key Points:

  • #2 role a well-established and entrepreneurial private equity platform with a strong growth trajectory.
  • Work directly with the General Counsel/CCO in executing and refining the firm’s compliance program.
  • Broad exposure across the private markets compliance landscape, including records management, testing, contract review, and regulatory initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance program administration, including Code of Ethics monitoring and quarterly certifications.
  • Assist with regulatory filings and maintain compliance records.
  • Participate in testing, mock exams, and other internal reviews to assess controls and readiness.
  • Research new regulatory developments and implement resulting compliance requirements.
  • Review and organize contracts and related legal documentation.
  • Partner across investment, legal, and operations teams to uphold firm standards and execute firm compliance program.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and best-practice enhancements as the firm scales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; legal, compliance, or paralegal background preferred.
  • 4-7 years of compliance or legal experience in private equity, private markets, or broader financial services.
  • Prior exposure to compliance frameworks, policies, or regulatory filings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills.
