About the Client:

Metric Geo is partnered with a leading specialty chemical manufacturer focused on ion exchange resins and advanced separation technologies serving industrial, laboratory, and high-purity applications. The company operates a large-scale manufacturing facility and is known for its technical expertise, quality standards, and strong position within the water treatment and specialty materials market.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization in a leadership role overseeing a critical production function within a 24/7 chemical manufacturing environment.

Production Manager:

The Production Manager will lead all plant production operations, overseeing personnel, processes, and performance across a multi-shift chemical manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with company objectives.

The position requires a strong leader who can manage a large team, optimize production efficiency, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.

This role reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing Operations and is fully onsite in Camden, NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily production operations across a 24/7 manufacturing environment, ensuring output, quality, and delivery targets are met
• Manage and develop a team of 50+ employees including engineers, supervisors, operators, and technicians across multiple shifts
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and internal safety standards
• Develop and execute production schedules while optimizing labor, materials, and equipment utilization
• Monitor and report on key production metrics, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost improvements
• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to support equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and downtime reduction
• Oversee plant shutdowns, maintenance planning, and equipment reliability initiatives
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and continuously improve SOPs, processes, and documentation
• Lead investigations into incidents, non-conformances, and process deviations, implementing corrective actions
• Support capital projects by collaborating with engineering on design, planning, and execution of plant improvements
• Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Lab, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to align production goals
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, capacity, and operational excellence

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of leadership experience within chemical manufacturing or similar process industries
• 7+ years of experience managing personnel in an industrial or plant environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
• Strong leadership ability with experience managing large, multi-shift teams
• Deep understanding of chemical plant operations, including reactors, pressure vessels, pumps, and process systems
• Experience working within OSHA-regulated environments with strong knowledge of safety compliance and procedures
